Advocate
Being an advocate, I aim for gender justice and strive for promoting legal rights of women and taking on issues that are central to the lives of women and girls. I support and collaborate with organizations and movements who advocate and campaign for gender equality and ending gender biases in judicial system and legal profession and implementation of pro women laws.
I am founding member of Sindh Women Lawyers Alliance (SWLA). SWLA aims to provide a platform for women lawyers to speak out individually and collectively against any forms of discrimination, harassment or ill treatment on the basis of gender, within law teaching institutions, the Bar, the Bench or Government departments; to advance the cause of women’s rights, as equal citizens under the 1973 Constitution.
I also have professional experience of more than 20 years in the field of Social Development and Corporate Sector including Programme/ Project Management, Participatory Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation, Partnership Management, Organizational Development, Community Development, Impact Assessment, Gender Audit and Strategic Planning. Extensive experience of working with international (Oxfam, UNDP, UNESCO, Asian Development Bank) and national NGOs, District Governments and provincial institutions.
